We have been contacted by Overseas Personal Development Services (OPDS), who professionally place overseas children at quality boarding schools in the UK, including SVS. They also provide full Guardianship Services for overseas pupils, ensuring their safety and welfare and providing peace of mind to parents who are confident that their child is being well looked after. As part of this service, they are in need of responsible, welcoming families to host pupils over the Christmas holidays.
For past parents or Old Suttonians, we thought this might be a perfect opportunity for those of you with an empty bedroom, to host one or two of these pupils for a couple of weeks and help give them a home from home Christmas holiday. The OPDS reimburses parents £50 per day for each child hosted, so on average this would equate to £1,400 for hosting two children over the Christmas break in a twin room. We attached a link to OPDS’ website for information - https://www.opds.co.uk/index.php.
If you are interested, please do not hesitate to contact us and we can pass your details on to OPDS, who will be delighted to meet you in person and explain in detail what is involved.
