We are pleased to announce the launch of the inaugural SVS Foundation Photography Competition. This is a fun competition, open to pupils, parents, past parents and Old Suttonians as a way of showcasing the photographic talent within the SVS Community.
The subject for this year's competition is 'What does community mean to you?', reflecting the community values that are so important to the School. You can submit up to two entries, but please ensure they are submitted by Monday 30th May. The overall winner will be chosen by Mr James Thomas (Headmaster), Mr Thompson (Head of Art and Photography) and Mrs Sutton (Teacher of Art and Photography) and all entries will be exhibited on Speech Day. As Ansel Adams said, “There are no rules for good photographers, there are only good photographs”. So whether you are a total novice or a keen photographer, this is your opportunity to get creative and interpret the brief your way.
All entries should be by email to peart-pricek@svs.org.uk with your two JPEG photographs attached. Each photograph should have a title or statement which adds context to the picture and often helps the panel of judges understand the work better. Please also let us know your connection to the school when submitting your entry. Good luck!
