The annual #JackTheLad Memorial Cup Fundraising Football match between players from Kings Hill and Maidstone took place on Friday last week at the Gallagher Stadium in Maidstone. This is the fourth year that the match has been played having originally been organised in memory of Old Suttonian Jack Howe (2016 F), who sadly died in a quad bike accident in Greece in 2019. This year, the teams also played in memory of Jack Fenton (2018 C), who also tragically died this summer in Greece. The two Jacks had met at Sutton Valence School and Jack Fenton had played in the #JacktheLad fixture in previous years.
Friends and family came to show their support including many Old Suttonians, pupils, staff and former staff. The match ended with a final score of 6-5 to Kings Hill.
#JackTheLad campaigns for Safer Holidays Abroad for UK’S young people. Aiming to draw attention to the risks that come with overseas holidays. This charity is there to help bereaved families with practical and financial arrangements, who might not have the means to bring their loved ones home so easily.
