This year, we welcomed a number of Old Suttonians back to the School for Speech Day, marking the culmination of the academic year and celebrating the School community’s many accomplishments. As has become tradition, a variety of events were put on prior to the main celebrations. The School's Sports Day concluded with senior relays on the all-weather track and a selection of junior sports were on show around the site. Elsewhere, the Art and Photography exhibition showcased some of the exceptional student work at the School and the Leavers’ Music Concert offered an enjoyable morning interlude.
In the Sports Hall, David Pickard (Staff 1977-2001, 2009-2015) curated an archive exhibition which included original documents, ledgers, reports and pictures that map out the fascinating history of the School through the ages. At the prize-giving, the Guest of Honour was Helen Whately MP. Helen is the Conservative MP for Faversham and Mid Kent. Helen spoke to the leaving pupils about taking up the opportunities offered to them and working hard for the things that they are passionate about.
