Last night we were proud to launch To 450 & Beyond, our coffee-table style book celebrating Sutton Valence School over its first 450 years. Work on the book started back in 2017 and after eight years, we are delighted that the finished book is finally with us.
Guests in attendance were treated to a photographic display and excerpts from the book read by some of the School's Academic Scholars and Heads of School. We are indebted to the author, Richard Harvey (1963 Co), who talked about how the booked was first conceived and to Profile Editions, the publishing house, who travelled down from London to be with us.
Thanks also go to Mrs Head, Mrs Manning, Mr Shuttleworth and the Catering team for all their help. We rounded the evening off in the foyer of the Theatre with drinks and canapés, whilst browsing the book, which prompted many a trip down memory lane.
We have been delighted with the response to the book’s release – the feedback thus far has been overwhelmingly positive. If you have not yet done so, the book can be viewed in the display cabinet in Reception, and can be purchased here.
