We are delighted to confirm that this year's Old Suttonians versus the School Hockey tournament will take place on the evening of Friday 29th April 2022. The fixture was traditionally a mainstay of the OS sporting programme, but unfortunately due to a number of reasons, we have been unable to host it since 2019. As such, given the hiatus, we are sure that Old Suttonians will be keen to return to the School to support the event.
The 2022 tournament is considerably later in the year than normal, but it has been timed to coincide with the reopening of the AstroTurf after a new surface is installed over the Easter holiday. As such, the tournament takes on greater significance as it will be the first set of matches played on the new surface. Ideally, we will be looking to play one girls' match to compete for the Susannah Townsend Trophy and at least one boys' match, which will see the teams battling for the Alex Hatch Trophy.
If you are interested in playing, please contact the Development Office (development@svs.org.uk). The later scheduling of the match will hopefully provide more favourable weather than the previous January slot for the event. As a result, we will be hosting a barbecue afterwards for both the players and spectators outside TC's. Whilst this is a free event, we would ask that you register using the link below to allow us to plan our catering provision for the evening.
