We were lucky that the sun shone on our inaugural Old Suttonian Open Afternoon last Saturday, which saw the School welcome nearly 40 Old Suttonians back to look around the site.
The afternoon commenced with a light lunch and drinks on Headmaster's Lawn, followed by a short address by the Headmaster in the Chapel. Our guests then split into groups and toured the School, inspecting the new additions and refurbished boarding houses, as well as taking a walk down memory lane and reminiscing about their days at School from the Fives Courts to the location of the old Dining Room. The Open Afternoon also coincided with the 1st XV Rugby match versus St Lawrence's College, so we were able to offer some our guests the opportunity to cheer on our victorious 1st XV (26-7), before they commenced their tour.
We enjoyed hosting our guests and have a little more history of the School to document (thanks to their stories), ahead of the School's 450th Anniversary in 2026.
