In the lead up to Christmas, the Old Suttonian Rifle Club held its annual Christmas Meal in Groves Hall. This was a festive celebration of all Old Suttonian shooting in 2022 and a great time was had by all. The OSRA were delighted to welcome Brian Miller (Staff 1987-2011) as our guest speaker, who was the master in charge of shooting for a number of years and the school SSI before Major Prem Ale (Staff 2011-). Brian gave a wonderful speech about how shooting started in earnest at Sutton Valence and how pleased he was that the spirit of those early successes was alive in OSRA.
The OSRA enjoyed an exceptional meal and was joined by James Thomas (HM 2021-), Yusef Ali, Kent and England and GB shooter, Michael Bromley, Kent and England shooter and Annie Wilkinson (Staff 1984-2016) and Robert Sinclair (1967 M), representing the OS Committee.
Anthony Bromley made a speech commending the great successes of the year and presented Freddie Pawlik (2011 W) with the trophy he won at the Kent Open. He also presented Tom Fermor (2009 L) with a prize for being the winning team captain in the 2022 Blues' Match.
