Following on from our previous Old Suttonian reunions in New York in February 2023 and May 2024, we returned to the US last weekend for a 450th anniversary-themed get-together. After events at the Yale Club and Coco's at Colette in the past, this year we headed to Lusardi's, an Italian restaurant in the Upper East Side.
Given the School's rich heritage of attracting English-Speaking Union (ESU) scholars, we have a strong base of American Old Suttonians, along with a large number of English OS who have since emigrated to the States. With that in mind, we were delighted that this year's event grew compared to previous years, with 16 Old Suttonians and guests, joining the Headmaster and Director of Admissions and Development for the event.
The Headmaster spoke about everything the School has planned for the anniversary year and we look forward to seeing a number of the guests at other events later in the year.
The New York reunion continues to be an invaluable way of connecting with a group of Old Suttonians who have remained connected with the School for over 50 years. Their continued interest in the all things SVS, both in a historical sense and in terms of the present day School, is remarkable. We are delighted that they continue to support the School and we look forward to next year’s event.
