Last Friday saw the rescheduled SVS Foundation Golf Day at The Ridge Golf Club. The sun shone, which was a relief having postponed the event at the end of April, due to heavy rain. The competition was fierce, but all the teams managed to complete the course whilst having a few laughs and a couple of visits into the rough!
Congratulations to the staff team for their victory, Adrian Penfold (Staff 2008-) received the David Pickard Trophy from the students (who had won last year), on behalf of his four-ball. Congratulations also go to Tony Varrall (Parent 2020-) and Luca Esposito (Fifth Form) for their Nearest the Pin honours.
The day was rounded off by an early supper and a chance to compare notes and scores. Unfortunately, David Pickard (Staff 1977-2001, 2009-2015) was not able to join us this year, but we look forward to welcoming him back to play and present his Trophy next year.
